Sign up to BetFred - it's the best bookmaker to start with. Deposit £25.

Find an event to bet on! You want the back odds at BetFred to be very close to the lay odds at Betfair. Put the values into the Matched Betting Calculator, as in the example. Remember, you want the "percentage of original bet retained" box to be as high as possible. Also, the odds at BetFred have to be evens or greater to qualify for the free bet. Evens in decimal odds is 2.0, so look for an event at BetFred with odds greater than 2.0 (the odds at Betfair can be anything you like). Spend as much time as you want finding an event with close odds between BetFred and Betfair, there's no rush. The best time to look is usually an hour or two before the event begins, so Saturday mornings are a good time to do this if you're looking at football. When you've found an event with close odds at both BetFred and Betfair you need to back the event at BetFred for £25 FIRST and then lay the event at Betfair for whatever amount the MBC has worked out for you. Always back at the bookmaker first because the odds at Betfair can change quite quickly. If the odds at Betfair have changed in the time it took you to back at the bookmaker then use the MBC to recalculate your lay stake and everything will be fine.
Step 4
Wait for the event to finish. When it has your free bet from BetFred will be added to your account. Repeat Step 3 with your free bet. Enjoy your profit :)
